The project source code for Hacking with iOS.
The source code for Paul Hudson's free Hacking with Swift tutorial series, with one self-contained Xcode project per chapter in a Classic folder (UIKit and SpriteKit) and a SwiftUI folder. It's for someone working through the tutorials who wants a known-good version to compare against, not for anyone looking for a reusable library.
Chapters that need a from-scratch starting point get their own project file, so a reader can follow the tutorial without digging through a finished app. Asset folders such as project1-files and project11-files ship the images, audio, and .sks scene files the tutorials reference, so nothing has to be sourced separately. Because the code follows the prose chapter by chapter, it works as a reference for one step that went wrong, not only as a finished app.
The projects are written for teaching, so state often lives directly in views and there are few layers beyond what the tutorial needs. Copying them into a production app means refactoring first. The README links a SwiftUI article for iOS 26 but says the projects target Xcode 15 and iOS 17, and the last push was June 2025, so it's unclear which SDK the code has been checked against. Classic/Project37 is built on WatchKit, which Apple has deprecated, making it the least likely project to run cleanly today. Apart from a few template UI test targets, there's nothing to build or test from the command line, so Xcode version drift only gets caught when someone opens each project by hand.
