// the find
willianjusten/awesome-svg
A curated list of SVG.
A link-list of SVG resources split into topic files (icons, animation, optimization tools, tutorials, sprites, etc.). It's for front-end devs who want a jumping-off point for SVG tooling and reading material, not a library or codebase you install.
- Splitting into per-topic files under topics/ instead of one giant README keeps individual pages scannable and makes PRs reviewable (you can tell at a glance which section a contribution touches)
- Decent topic coverage beyond the usual icon-library spam — separate sections for filters, masks/clip-paths, gradients, and sprites, which most awesome-SVG clones skip
- Has a CI script (ci_script.sh, Travis) that presumably lints link formatting, which is more structure than most awesome-lists bother with
- No visible dead-link checking in the CI — for a list this age (4600+ stars, multi-year lifespan) that's exactly the kind of repo where a third of the links rot and nobody notices
- No dates or last-verified markers on entries, so there's no way to tell if a linked tool or tutorial from 2016 is still relevant without clicking through
- Entirely link curation with zero original content or opinion on which tool to pick when three options do the same thing — the value-add over just searching GitHub topics is thin
- The Shell language tag is just the CI script; there's no actual tooling here, so 'using' this repo means bookmarking it, not running anything
