iOS FFmpeg wrapper for ffmpeg v1.0
An Xcode wrapper project that bundles precompiled FFmpeg 1.0 static libraries (libavcodec, libavformat, libavutil, libswresample, libswscale) into an iOS framework, plus shell scripts to cross-compile FFmpeg for armv7/armv7s/i386/x86_64. Useful only as a historical reference for anyone building their own iOS FFmpeg cross-compile pipeline from scratch.
The ffmpeg-ios-compile scripts show the full per-architecture config/compile/lipo steps, which is a decent starting template if you're writing your own build pipeline today. It explicitly calls out that Dolby codecs (AC3, E-AC3, MLP) require a separate license and tells you to strip them before shipping — a licensing trap a lot of similar wrapper repos just ignore.
FFmpeg 1.0 is from 2012 and dead since this repo's last push in 2013 — over a decade of codec, security, and performance fixes missing. No arm64 or bitcode support at all, so the prebuilt .a files won't link into any current Xcode project targeting real devices. Shipping compiled static libraries directly in the repo instead of a reproducible build script means you have no way to verify what's actually in them or rebuild them without the separate ffmpeg-ios-compile repo. No license file anywhere, which matters a lot given FFmpeg's own LGPL/GPL obligations.
