Examples of Angular Architecture Concepts

// the take

A companion repo for Dan Wahlin's Angular Architecture course, structured as a grab-bag of small standalone Angular apps that each demonstrate one architectural pattern: component communication, inheritance, feature modules, view models, and four different state management approaches side by side. It's aimed at developers studying Angular architecture decisions, not at anyone looking for a library to drop into a real app.

Good breadth on state management specifically — DIY subject-based store, NgRx, ngrx-data, and Observable Store are all implemented against the same customer/order domain, so you can actually compare the boilerplate and mental model of each rather than taking someone's word for it. The view-model demos progress in four numbered stages (simple, isolation, vm, customers-orders) that build on each other, which is a clearer teaching structure than most tutorial repos bother with. Each demo folder is a self-contained Angular CLI project, so you can open just the one concept you care about instead of navigating one sprawling app.

Last pushed March 2024, and it leans heavily on NgModules (core.module.ts, feature modules, shared.module.ts) even though Angular has since made standalone components the default for new apps — someone learning 'current' architecture from this will pick up patterns that are already behind what `ng new` scaffolds today. The Signals demo exists but is dropped into the same repo as the NgModule/RxJS-heavy demos with no guidance on which approach to actually prefer now, which is confusing without the paid course narrating it. There's no test suite validating the demos still build against newer Angular/RxJS versions, and the README's demo table is just names and one-line descriptions — the actual explanation of why each pattern matters lives in the Pluralsight course, not in the repo.
