Luke's Hugo Theme
A no-frills Hugo theme by Luke Smith, used on his own sites (based.cooking, landchad.net). It's for people who want a static blog/site with zero JS and a single stylesheet, not a general-purpose theme with knobs to turn.
The whole theme is a dozen or so files — baseof, list, single, a handful of partials and shortcodes — so you can read every template in a sitting and know exactly what's happening. Site-wide RSS at /index.xml comes for free. It's dogfooded on two live, reasonably trafficked sites, so the common paths (posts, tags, next/prev) are proven, not theoretical.
README setup is 'copy style.css into static/' with zero explanation of what config.toml options the theme actually reads or what front matter fields are expected — you're reading source to find out. No exampleSite directory and no CI step that actually builds a site, just a GitHub Actions workflow for something else (upload.yml) with no indication it validates the theme. No visible LICENSE file in the tree, which matters if you're forking or redistributing. Customization means editing the copied style.css directly, so there's no clean way to pull upstream CSS fixes without re-diffing your changes.
