appenz/minebot
A minecraft bot written in python that can mine, chop wood, farm and build things. Written in python using mineflayer.
A Minecraft bot built on Mineflayer via a Python/JS bridge that automates mining, chopping wood, farming, and basic building through chat commands. Aimed at Minecraft players/hobbyists who want a scriptable automation bot rather than developers wanting a general bot framework.
The mining module is genuinely developed - strip mining, corridor digging, ore detection through walls, automatic bridging over lava, and sign-based progress logging are specific, non-trivial features. The chest+torch convention for giving the bot direction and task context is a clever, simple UI that avoids building a full command parser. Modular file layout (mine.py, farming.py, combat.py, movement.py) makes it readable for someone wanting to add a new activity.
Hard version pin to Minecraft 1.16.5 with explicit incompatibility with 1.18/1.19 means this is stale for anyone on a current server, and no commits since April 2024 suggest it's abandoned. Farming only supports wheat, chopping only works on mega spruce trees, building is 'still early', and the bot can't defend itself in combat - lots of partially-finished features. No tests beyond a single test.py, no CI, and setup requires manually editing a Python file with plaintext credentials rather than any config/env file support.
