A curated list of awesome articles, websites and resources about mental health in the software industry.

A link list of apps, articles, books, talks, podcasts, meetups and organizations on mental health for people working in software. It is aimed at developers, designers and engineering managers who want a starting point, and it opens with a clear disclaimer and crisis-line links, which is the right call for this topic.

The articles section includes peer-reviewed research alongside blog posts, notably Graziotin et al.'s 'What Happens When Software Developers Are (un)Happy', which gives a manager something to cite beyond anecdote. Sections are split by format (apps, books, talks, podcasts, meetups, organizations), so you can jump straight to what you want. Open-source apps such as Nyxo and Quirk are labelled as such, which helps anyone who cares where their data goes. The talks list is the strongest part, with a lot of first-person testimony from engineers like April Wensel and Greg Baugues, and that is what a list like this is for.

The last push was 2025-05-02, so the repo is about seventeen months stale, and the entries carry no dates, so a reader cannot tell which articles or talks are still current. Some entries have gone stale in fact: Woebot shut down its consumer app in 2025, and the talks section leans on 2014 to 2018 conference videos, with nothing in the visible file tree that checks whether links still resolve. Scope drifts from the software-industry focus in the intro. The applications section includes a sleep-cycle calculator and a VA app for veterans, and several organizations listed have no connection to tech. Many entries are just a title, an author name and a link, so you cannot judge relevance without clicking through.
