Firebase Admin Go SDK
The official Go SDK for Firebase Admin services — auth, Firestore/RTDB, Cloud Messaging, Storage, Remote Config, and App Check — meant to run in trusted server environments where you need to verify ID tokens, manage users, or push notifications rather than go through client SDKs. It's for backend Go developers already on Firebase/GCP who need server-side privileged access, not a general-purpose Firebase client.
Split into focused packages per service (auth, messaging, storage, db, remoteconfig, appcheck) instead of one bloated client object, so you only pull in what you use. Auth alone covers real enterprise needs — multi-factor config, tenant management, provider config — not just basic token verification. Near 1:1 ratio of source files to _test.go files, plus a separate integration/ suite that hits live Firebase projects in CI across two Go versions, which is more test discipline than most SDKs this size bother with.
The README tells you almost nothing about what's actually in the box — no mention of tenant mgt, remote config server templates, or phone number verification, so you're reading godoc or source to discover half the SDK's surface. Firestore support is a thin pass-through to cloud.google.com/go/firestore rather than a real wrapper, which is a confusing extra hop for anyone who expects this package to be self-contained. Zero runnable examples in the repo itself — the snippets/ folder is fragments meant to be copy-pasted into external docs pages, not something you can clone and run. Major version bumps (currently v4) land without a visible changelog in-repo; you have to click out to firebase.google.com/support/release-notes to know what broke.
