this is the code for a talk on reactive Spring jointly developed by Mark Heckler @mkheck and me @starbuxman
Companion code for a talk on reactive Spring by Josh Long and Mark Heckler. It is a small movie-themed service and client, each written in both Java and Kotlin, so it works as a runnable reference for how a reactive service and its consumer fit together. It suits developers who want to see that wiring in code rather than read a framework guide.
The Java and Kotlin trees each split into a service and a client, so the same design can be compared directly across the two languages. Keeping client and service as separate projects makes the reactive boundary between them visible in the module layout. The whole thing is small enough to read in an afternoon, which is the right size for a demo.
The last push was in December 2017, and this code predates the Spring Boot and Reactor APIs most people use now, so it will likely need porting before it builds against current versions. The tree shows no README, so nothing in the repo explains how to start the service and client together or what the talk covers. The file names suggest a generated context-load test and one service test, with nothing substantive for the client, so there is little to rely on if you want to change the code.
