Terraform GitHub provider
The Terraform provider for managing GitHub resources — repos, teams, branch protections, rulesets, Actions secrets, webhooks, and org settings — against both GitHub.com and GitHub Enterprise Server. For teams that already treat their GitHub org as infrastructure and want it under version control instead of clicked through the UI.
Resource and data-source coverage is enormous — practically every GitHub REST/GraphQL API surface for orgs, repos, and Actions has a corresponding Terraform resource, which is rare for a community-maintained provider. Uses both REST and GraphQL depending on what the operation needs, which is how you get GHES compatibility without giving up newer GraphQL-only features. Engineering hygiene is solid: ARCHITECTURE.md and DECISIONS.md explaining design tradeoffs, a strict golangci-lint config, CodeQL scanning, and a real acceptance-test workflow rather than just unit tests.
GitHub Support explicitly does not cover this — it's community-supported with the SDK team triaging 'periodically,' so don't expect fast turnaround if you hit a provider bug blocking a deploy. The README itself is a stub; all real documentation lives on the Terraform Registry, so you can't evaluate auth setup, rate-limit behavior, or drift handling from the repo alone. With this many resources spanning REST and GraphQL, state drift and API version skew between the two backends is a plausible failure mode the README doesn't address.
