Bulk delete your GitHub forks
A local-only web app for reviewing and bulk-deleting your own GitHub forks, run via `npx` with no install or clone required. It's for anyone who's accumulated forks from following tutorials or one-off PRs and wants a safer way to clean them up than the GitHub UI's one-by-one deletion.
It checks every fork branch for open pull requests before allowing bulk selection, so you can't accidentally nuke a fork someone's still using in an open PR. Auth is handled well: it picks up an existing `gh` CLI session automatically, and if you fall back to a personal access token, that token stays in process memory only — never touches disk, logs, or browser storage. The confirmation step requires typing `DELETE` and nothing is pre-selected, which matches how destructive an irreversible bulk-delete operation actually is. There's real test coverage (`app.test.ts`, `github.test.ts`, `filter-repositories.test.ts`) plus a typecheck step, not just a README promising quality.
Deletion is sequential with no visible batching or backoff, so someone with a few hundred forks could hit GitHub's rate limits partway through and end up with a half-completed run. Fetching all forks and then checking every branch for open PRs is a lot of API calls for accounts with heavy fork counts, and there's no mention of how it behaves in that case beyond 'reports every success or failure.' No `.github/workflows` in the tree, so it's unclear if the test suite actually gates merges or is just something you're expected to run locally. It's also a genuinely single-purpose tool — fine for what it does, but there's no path to anything beyond forks (e.g., archived or stale repos you own outright).
