// the take

A community translation of Real World Haskell into Simplified Chinese, Sphinx-based docs plus the book's original runnable code examples organized by chapter. It's for Chinese-speaking Haskell learners who want the classic O'Reilly text without wrestling with English technical prose.

27 of 28 chapters are fully translated with named translators per chapter, so coverage isn't thin or abandoned mid-book. It ships the actual code from the book (chp01 through ch28) rather than just translated prose, so you can run the examples alongside reading. Multiple translators cross-checked chapters (several list 2-4 contributors each), which tends to catch the kind of subtle mistranslation a single translator misses in technical material.

No commits since February 2022 and chapter 17 has been stuck 'in progress' indefinitely - there's no indication anyone's picked it up since. It's a translation of a 2008 book, so the Haskell it teaches (cabal workflows, extensions, GHC behavior) is dated; readers will hit mismatches with current GHC and tooling (Stack, newer extensions) with zero errata or updates to bridge the gap. Only useful if you read Chinese - which is fine for its audience but means most of this list's readers can't use it directly, and there's no ongoing effort to translate any follow-up or errata the English community has produced since.
