Terraform Oracle Cloud Infrastructure provider

The official Terraform provider for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, maintained by Oracle and auto-published to the Terraform Registry. It's for teams provisioning OCI resources (compute, networking, Big Data Service, API Gateway, APM, Capacity Management, and dozens more) as infrastructure-as-code, not for anyone outside the OCI ecosystem.

The example coverage is enormous and genuinely useful — nearly every resource type ships a working main.tf under examples/, which beats most cloud providers' thin single-example docs. Acceptance tests (make testacc) run against live OCI APIs rather than mocks, so regressions in actual resource behavior get caught, not just schema validation. Breadth of coverage is unusually wide for a single provider — it tracks OCI's sprawling service catalog closely, including newer or niche services (Capacity Management, Cloud Bridge, AI Data Platform) that often lag in competitor tooling.

876 stars is strikingly low for a provider this large and officially backed — a sign OCI's Terraform user base is thin relative to AWS/GCP/Azure, so expect smaller community support and slower third-party troubleshooting content. The README itself is nearly content-free, just a wall of links to terraform.io docs with no inline usage example — you have to leave the repo to understand basic setup. Build instructions still assume the old GOPATH layout (clone into $GOPATH/src/terraform-provider-oci), which is stale guidance for any Go toolchain using modules. The CI badge points at Wercker, a CI service that's effectively dead, suggesting the documented build/test pipeline doesn't match whatever actually gates merges today.
